Command line control of lighting is an important feature.

The control in LightsOn is based on standards from lighting consoles but has more advanced features, allowing full control from a command line, even remotely.

The idea of the command line is that it uses keywords and commands, much like a simple programming language. The idea being that it can be controlled using a variety of methods, including remotely and the use of "batch files", or blocks of commands in a file that can be run in sequence.
